THE COALITION
Founded in October 2023, the Coalition for Cyclist Safety brings together leading experts across sectors, all dedicated to significantly improving road safety. By aligning efforts and resources, we aim to accelerate the widespread deployment of V2X technology and support the global Vision Zero initiative.
VISION ZERO
Vision Zero is a road safety philosophy that starts from a simple premise: no one should be killed or seriously injured while traveling. Rather than treating fatalities as an unavoidable cost of mobility, Vision Zero holds that deaths and serious injuries are preventable outcomes of system failures.
The Coalition for Cyclist Safety operates within this framework. We recognize that technological solutions alone are not sufficient. Deployment must be coordinated, infrastructure must evolve, and the entire mobility ecosystem must align around shared standards.
V2X technology enables cyclists and drivers to be mutually aware of each other in ways that visual detection cannot guarantee. The Coalition exists to accelerate that awareness into widespread, lasting deployment.

MILESTONES
The Founding Vision
The Coalition was officially formed on October 23rd, 2023, bringing together 19 founding members from automotive, cycling, telecom, and tech.
Expanding the Coalition
Notable brands including Stromer, BMC, and Shimano joined, strengthening our ability to push for safer roads through V2X solutions.
C-V2X Deployment Plan
The U.S. Department of Transportation announced its nationwide V2X integration strategy, directly supporting the Coalition's deployment mission.
Partner Event, Amsterdam
Coalition members gathered April 9–10, 2025 to exchange insights, showcase solutions, and strengthen partnerships around V2X deployment.
